Signs you Found the Right Candidate
Signs you Found the Right Candidate

Finding the right candidate can be hard, especially in today’s world. There are so many different things to take into consideration before hiring someone. You have to make sure they have the experience, the motivation, and the personality. Finding employees that can mesh well into the atmosphere in your workplace can be wonderful, but if they aren’t quite the match, it could be detrimental. Hiring one wrong employee can destroy the morale of your workplace. This is why your interview process is so important, you shouldn’t wait until the day before a position is empty to officially hire someone. Instead, make a point to find time to really dive in and pick out some candidates who really catch your eye and then do your due diligence to ensure they are the right fit. Here are some signals to watch for.

They did their research

A good candidate will do research on the company, and the position prior to the interview. They have direct questions about the company and show that they learned about it. It will be obvious that they learned more about the position, and the responsibilities it comes with. They will prove to you that they came to the interview prepared, and eager to learn more.

They show enthusiasm

People who show enthusiasm typically have more of a “go get them” attitude, so they are highly motivated individuals. Remember, it is always important to listen to not only what someone is saying, but how they are saying it.

They are honest

There is no such thing as a perfect person. Everyone has their flaws, but most can be open to them. A candidate who is wanting to improve will be open and honest about their weaknesses. Someone claiming not to have weaknesses may not be being open with you.

They are communicative

Candidates who are open and eager for their next job should be communicative. They typically are very responsive and don’t make you chase them. The right candidate should be eager to continue your conversation, they should be direct with their responses and/or questions.

The interview goes smoothly

Some interviews are not ideal and might be a little painful. If you have found the right candidate, typically one of the first signs is how well the interview goes. The interview should be running almost seamlessly, almost like it is just a conversation. A great interview

should be exciting, engaging, and help to build rapport. There are so many candidates out there and finding the right one takes planning and process.
