Hiring managers do not want to waste any time when it comes to finding the right candidate, so they aren’t going to waste any time filtering through. If your interview lasted longer than expected, it may be a good sign that they are interested in you.
The Interviewer mentioned growth opportunities
If they are sharing more opportunities, they are interested. Oftentimes, companies are looking for long-term employees, so this might be a sign they are trying to sell you on the position and the company.
You receive positive affirmations
An engaged, interested interviewer is easy to pick out. This is a good sign if you notice them nodding their head in agreement and keeping consistent eye contact. They may even say things like “That’s a great answer” or “That’s exactly what we are looking for”. These are also great signs that the interview is going well, and you might have won them over.
They bring up “Next Steps”
They are not going to waste their time going into the nitty-gritty details about the next steps if they aren’t interested. This can be a great sign that they are considering moving forward with you. This might include asking for references, availability, etc… They may also let you know when to expect to hear back from them, which is also a great sign that you might have landed the job!
Your follow up email/phone call got a quick response
Regardless of how you think the interview went, it is always a good gesture to send a follow-up message thanking them for the opportunity. If they respond in a positive, quick manner, it might be because they have been eager to hear from you! Follow-up emails can be a powerful step to help you land the job.
